About the Artist

George Yates has lived in Ewhurst for 45 years. He joined a small portrait drawing group about four or five years ago and then worked for twelve months with two art groups with two very talented mentors. He continues to meet with two groups of friends to share the learning and exploration of painting.

George paints with acrylics, producing colourful landscapes and occasional portraits of people he knows. Initially he took inspiration from a wide number of images and artists but more recently is keen to produce original work of his own.

The FSPSP would like to thank Cranleigh Arts and Crafts Society (CAACS) for loaning their display stands for this Exhibition.  Many thanks also to Ewhurst CCM motor repairs for the loan of their van to transport the stands to and from the venue.

This will also be the first chance to buy our village inspired Christmas cards which will continue to be on sale in the Wilson Room up to Christmas.
